Alongside creating a more informed world on life with diabetes, Woolley’s Warriors was founded with the main goal of raising funds to send kids to Diabetes Canada D-Camps.

When Mark Woolley was diagnosed at the age of 12 with Type 1 Diabetes, his immediate and biggest fear was losing the game that was already such a big part of his life. Mark quickly learned, though, that it was possible to manage diabetes through the appropriate measures, allowing him to continue playing the sport he loved. Mark and Woolley’s Warriors are determined to give other kids the same opportunity with access to D-Camps.

Since D-Camps began more than 60 years ago, more than 20,000 children have attended Diabetes Canada’s camps for children living with Type 1 diabetes. Campers enjoy an authentic camp experience that combines fun activities, friendship, and education on how to manage their diabetes with help from medical professionals who are on site 24/7.
